This project is funded in part by a grant from the Madison Arts Commission, with additional funds from the Wisconsin Arts Board & Dane Arts.

Over 27,000 Wisconsites died due to alcohol consumption in the last decade. But research shows evidence that arts can play a role in helping people cope with mental health challenges like addiction.
On uHuman’s Creative Recovery podcast, content creator and actor, Morgan D. Stewart investigates the vital, absorbing & creative interests helping people from all walks of life lead more balanced lives.
Morgan and her guests dish about the creativity, inspiration, and stability that can be found in entrepreneurship, meditation, music, and more.
Using audio as our artistic medium, we’re weaving together beautiful and courageous stories, showcasing what’s possible for those interested in changing our culture to be more inclusive, healthier, and curious.
This project helps solidify the link between creative practices and recovery. It’s a necessary progression towards a shared recovery model for mental health, and our gatherings where artistic expression is explored may well result in development of underrepresented art forms.
Segments related to each episode airs on Wisconsin Public Radio’s “Wisconsin Life”. If you missed them you can check them out here!
